I'm Not On My Own Tonight

The suburb is a mixture of naturally occurring elements and defined planned green spaces. For a moment, walking through its trails I forget where I was - observing new growth and infinite skies. This series brings the suburban domestic in proximity to Toronto’s urban spaces I once occupied and longed to return to. Like the suburb, they are a combination of planned green spaces from Bradford and hiking trails in Burlington, and Woodview, and Scarborough, Ontario. Inspired by the exposed timber in T3’s building, the natural elements in the work replace and coincide with the buildings. the work functions like a public garden for those to pass and take a conscious collective breath.
The series was shot on medium format Kodak Portra 400 & 800 film.
